6 & 7 Malt Shovel Court
The Court takes it name from what originally
was Malt Shovel Yard, being a yard behind a public house of
that name. There are many public houses in England called
The Malt Shovel because of its connection with the brewing
trade. The shovel was a specially designed one so shaped as
not to damage the barley whilst it was being turned over.
No. 5 and 6 were acquired by the Trust in
1993 and were then restored. |
