We became a registered charity in 1976, when the governing document of Ings Property Company was amended to formally reflect the organisation’s charitable purpose and the name changed to York Conservation Trust.

July 2023 - after many years' service Peter Morrell has stood down as a Trustee. We thank him and wish him the very best.

April 2023 - after five years at the helm, CEO Jonathan Bryant stepped down with six months' notice. Showing great leadership through a turbulent period, we thank Jonathan for his thoughtful stewardship.

October 2023 - following a thorough recruitment process, Conservation Architect Guy Bowyer was announced as the new CEO and took up his role. 

November 2023 - after many years' with us Nicholas Morrell stood down as a Trustee. We thank him and wish him the very best.
