Owners Hannah and Oli met while working in the music industry, and while they both still have busy festival and touring schedules, they also both design unique brands of jewellery. Originally from Sheffield, Hannah works in stage management and artist liaison, and designs as Luna Lux Design. Born in Beverley, guitarist and singer Oli designs as Black Feather Design, and each brings a stunning and playful approach to a range of music and gothic-inspired pieces.
Partnering with other hand-picked designers and artists, and drawing on their industry connections, Hannah and Oli are planning some exciting collaborations and exclusive band ranges.
Operations Manager at the Trust, Lizzie Taylor said, "When we met Hannah and Oli we knew they had something special and unique to offer, and we are thrilled they've brought that to York. Nox is a great addition to the historic and vibrant Goodramgate; we're so pleased they're off to such a strong start and can't wait to see what they do next!"
Unique and limited editions will feature as part of new and seasonal collections. And it’s not just about jewellery, you’ll find candles, fragrances, furniture, wall art and ornaments in the shop and available from their website.
Delighted to be in York, Hannah commented, “I love York. I’ve always been drawn to it, the history and the charm. We’re delighted to be able to open our first shop here and have appreciated the support from Lizzie and Guy at York Conservation Trust.”
Oli, continued, “We’ve also felt very welcome in Goodramgate and are enjoying getting to know our neighbours and, of course, meeting our customers. Our work is known around the world, yet we were stunned when a customer walked in who had come all the way from Australia to visit us!”
With plans for events, pop-up shops, exclusive launches and providing a showcase for other gothic designers, there’s plenty to come from Nox and plenty more reasons to visit another of our enterprising commercial tenants.
